If you’re thinking of having your car customised, one of the quickest and biggest wins you can achieve is swapping the material used in the interior. But how to decide whether you like cloth or want to swap it out for luxury leather?
There are, of course, pros and cons to both so it’s just a matter of weighing up your options and deciding which one would suit you and your particular lifestyle best. With leather, you get to enjoy certain benefits such as the pleasant aroma of the material – which is certainly one of the main reasons why so many people go down this route.
And it’s also a lot easier to clean than cloth because leather can just be wiped down if something is spilled. With cloth, liquids can sink in and you may find you have permanent stains left in your car depending on what is spilled. If you have young children, leather would probably be the most practical choice. In terms of aesthetics, leather is the clear winner between the two and if it’s an executive look you’re going for with your car, you can’t do much better. It’s also worth noting that if you expect to sell your car later down the line, leather interiors can make this easier to achieve – and you might get more for the vehicle than if you had cloth instead.
But do bear in mind that leather is more high maintenance than cloth so you’ll need to clean and condition it every couple of months, otherwise it’ll harden and may even crack.
